Objective To explore the relationship between Notchl receptor and the clinical pathological characteristics and prognosis of breast cancer. Methods In 106 cases of breast cancer, immunohistochemieal staining method were used to detect the expression of Notchl receptor, ER, PR, and CerbB-2 in the breast cancer tissue samples, then analyse the relationship between Notchl receptor and clinical pathological characteristics and prognosis of breast cancer. Results The expression of notch1 receptor in breast cancer is higher than that of the normal breast tissue (P〈0.05). There was a significant association of Notchl receptor with CerbB-2(P〈0.05). The 5 years survival rate of breast cancer patients with high Notchl receptor is lower than patients with low Notchl receptor. Conclusion The expression of Notchl in breast cancer is higher than that of the normal breast tissue. The expres- sion of Notchl is associated with CerbB-2.High Notchl receptor is associated with poor prognosis.
