北宋时期,西京洛阳是京师开封之外的又一文教重镇,吸引了大批闲退官僚士绅、四方名士硕儒,逐步形成了注重自身道德修养,坚持儒家礼法教条的社会风尚。敦名重教、贵齿尚贤、乐易闲适是其社会风尚的几大特色。

In addition to the capital city of Kaifeng, the west capital Luoyang was another important culture and education city in Northern Song Dynasty. A great quantity of literati and officialdom gathered there. There was then a fashion to pursuit the moral training and to take Confucian rites as the guiding principles. Respecting teach- ers, the elderly and the sages, and leading a leisurely and comfortable life were the features of the society then.
