From the prospective of the crossover of the two worlds, design and craft, the paper describes Gijs Bakker’s story as the co-founder of ‘Droog’ then the creative director of 'Yii'. In the mean time, the introduction of his two Taiwan students’ design conceptions aims to reflect his two phases of design thinking respectively. Bakker’s practice discusses the intersection of craft and design, and his experiments in Taiwan will have the meaningful reference to either the revitalization of folk craft or the contemporary design in the mainland in China.
