清代晚期特别是鸦片战争之后,随着清朝政府政治上的腐败与外国列强对中国的掠夺,战乱不断,紫砂壶的发展在时局动荡的影响下也几经波折,尽管如此,在太平天国至民国这段时期,仍涌现出了一批很杰出的紫砂艺人和优秀的紫砂壶作品,为新中国成立后紫砂壶的勃兴奠定了基础。

In the late Qing Dynasty （1644-1911）, especially after the first Opium War, the development of Zisha teapot is full of twists and turns in the wake of the political corruption of the Qing government, the plunder carried out by foreign powers and the chaos of wars. Still and all, this period of time has seen the emergence of a large number of outstanding Zisha teapot artisans and Zisha teapots, which lays a foundation for the prosperity of Zisha teapots after the founding of new China.
