蜻蜓目幼虫是一类常见的水生昆虫,该目昆虫中的许多种类都具有很高的开发利用价值.首先作为水环境的指示生物,不仅种群动态的变化对于水质监测具有重要的意义,形态上的变化也有助于分析水质,相对理化监测来讲,水生昆虫的监测结果更合理、更准确;又由于其体内氨基酸、蛋白质等含量丰富,有很高的营养价值,因此可作为一种很好的食用产品;同时该目昆虫也有很高的药用价值和观赏价值;随着现代生物学技术的发展,对蜻蜓目昆虫在天气和地质灾害的预测及刑事案件的侦破等方面的作用也开始了初步的研究.

Odonata insects are a kind of common aquatic insects. Many species are of great ex-ploitation value. Both the population changes and morphological changes of aquatic insects can be regarded as bio-indicators of water quality. Compared with chemical and physical testing,the aquatic insects observation results are more reasonable and accurate. Besides, the aquatic insects promise a high nutritional value as their bodies are rich in amino acids and protein con- tent. Therefore, they can serve as a kind of food product. The Odonata insects are also of a high medical value and ornamental value. With the development of modern biological technolo-gy, the preliminary studies have also been carried out in predicting weather and geological dis-aster and detecting in criminal cases.
