Cultivation of Innovative English Talents and Basic English Teaching Reform

培养创新型人才是新时期建设创新型国家的迫切需要,也是高等学校自身改革和发展的需要。本文论述了创新型英语人才的内涵,论证了培养创新型英语人才是新时期英语专业的人才培养目标,进而重新确立基础英语课程的定位与功能,并提出了该课程教学改革的思路与措施。

Cultivating creative talents is not only an urgent need to build a creation -oriented country in this new era, but also a need to reform and develop higher education institutions. This paper discusses the meaning of creative English talents, proves that cultivating creative English talents is the talent -cultivating objective of English major in the new era. On the basis of that, this paper reconstructs the orientation and functions of Basic English course, from which some reform ideas and measures are put forward.
