An Analysis of Ethics in the Folk Custom "Kuai Huo" in Sansi Village

"快活"民俗被认为是社火游艺中颇为特殊的种类,属于以视觉装扮为传播方式的哑戏艺术形态。此类民俗与大多数社火事像在文化功能上具有根本性的不同,它主要是借助迷幻的化妆手段造成血腥暴力的展现效果,并以善恶报应、惩恶扬善的道德伦理为其文化内核,具有较强的社会规范和教化性特征。从陕西省宝鸡市陈仓区赤沙镇三寺村的"快活"民俗事像中可以看到其道德伦理的潜在因素。

Kuai Huo is thought to be a special kind among many folk festival entertainments, i.e. She Huo. It belongs to an art form of dumb show through the visual transmission mode. In terms of its cultural function, Kuai Huo is different from other folk festival celebrations, by using the psychedelic make - up to symbolize the bloody violence for its effect, with the morals and ethics of good and evil retribution, and punishing the evils and promoting the deeds as the cultural core, which is typical of stronger social norms and education. The potential factors of morals and ethics can be found in the folk custom Kuai Huo in Sansi Village, Chencang District, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province.
