摘要
英汉语中都存在不少行走域词汇来暗指"工作、做事"的含义,形成"行走.行事"的隐/转喻模式。通过大量英汉对应表达作语料支撑,分析两种语言行走域词汇认知共性背后的认知机理,阐释词汇文化理据分析的必要性,促进外语学习与外语教学。
In daily expressions, quite a number of walking-related words measure up to a metaphoric pattern of doing things. This policy holds good in Chinese language and English as well. This paper, based on case-studies, maps out the cognitive process for that metaphoric pattern, and brings home to language learners the importance and necessity of seeking cultural motivation in English vocabulary study.
