民族文学理论聚焦于中国少数民族作家文学,以"美人之美"为宗旨,以跨学科的、开放的、动态的视野挑战普适性文学理论,注重多元性、差异性和不可规约性。进一步阐述民族文学理论的宏观和微观两个维度,既把握各民族文学的共性,也注重各民族文学之间的差异。认为少数民族作家作品中体现出来的独特性是其主要出发点;同时,民族文学理论是跨学科的,要求研究者立足于文学学科,以宏阔的视野借鉴其他学科的理论资源。

Ethnic literary theory focus on writers＂ literature of Chinese minorities. Its purpose is ＂to appreciate the beauty of others＂. With interdisciplinary, open and dynamic vision, focusing on diversity and difference, ethnic literary theory challenges the universal literature theory. Uniqueness of minorities reflected in the works of writers is the focal point of departure~ at the same time, ethnic literary theory need literature researcher to draw on theoretical resources of other disciplines.
