This article discusses the progress in the research on special numbering in the CLC from several aspects including its background and significance, the establishment and composi- tion of generalized active sector device, the title, the concept group and the research methods for the device, as well as the discovery of skipping a grade, combined class-level, no-class phenomenon, and new types of numbering such as active sector device of generalized lower class notation, and amplified class notation and composite active sector device.
