摘要
在《规训与惩罚》中,福柯曾借助对公开行刑与"全景敞视监狱"的描述,展现了视觉形象与权力之间长期保持的两种关系——"形象作为权力的中介"和"形象作为权力的对象"。在两种模式的基础上,在充溢着后现代气质的时代背景下,一种新的"形象—权力"模式正愈发彰显:视觉形象在某种程度上成为了占据主导地位、统摄主体的权力核心。然而,形象在"解构与建构"、"断裂性与连续性"、"去深度与寻求深度"等方面所根深蒂固的悖论又暗示了形象同语言文字之间难以消解的强大张力,从而提醒我们去关注二者之间错综复杂的内在关联。
In Discipline and Punish, Foucauh unfolds two kinds of long - standing relations between visual im- age and power by describing public punishment and panoption. The relations are : image as the media of power and image as the object of power. On the basis of the two relations, a new "image - power" mode is becoming apparent in the period which is filled with postmodern ethos : to some extent, visual image has become the core of power that both occupies dominant position and controls subjects. Nevertheless, the inherent paradoxes among "deconstruction and " " construction , between image and "breakage language, and continuity", "deprivation of depth and pursuit of depth" imply the great tension and remind us to pay attention to the complicated interconnections between them.
