文明对话模式之争:普世价值与核心价值

Controversy on the Model of Dialogue among Civilizations:the Universal Value and the Core Value

普世价值文明转型模式和核心价值文明自觉模式是两种截然不同的文明对话模式。前者实际上是把西方文明的某些核心价值奉为普世价值,并要求弱势文明以此为标准进行改革和转型,最后融入这些所谓的"普世价值"之中。这种对话模式容易引发文明间的外部对抗,妨碍对话各方深入认识自己的核心价值,并掩盖自身的视觉盲点。后者则强调各文明在对话交流中反省自身原始责任意识,认识自己的核心价值,在对照中揭示自身视觉盲点,并在此基础上进行自我更新。核心价值文明自觉模式应该成为未来文明对话的主导模式。

The two models,namely,the model of civilization transition based on universal values and the one of civilization consciousness based on core values,are two distinct models of dialogue among civilizations.The former actually regards some of the core values of the Western civilization as the universal value,and demands reform and transition in the disadvantaged civilizations in the hope of effecting assimilation with those so-called 'universal values.' This model of dialogue is apt to cause external confrontation,to hinder the parties concerned from developing a deeper understanding of their own core values,and to conceal their own blind spots.The latter,on the other hand,emphasizes that different civilizations reflect upon their own sense of responsibility in the dialogue and communication,recognize their own core values,reveal their own blind spots,and effect self-renewal accordingly.The model of civilization consciousness based on core values should be taken as the leading model in the future.
