An overview focuses on the function and position of terms in the standards. Based on the survey, an introduction is given to the of present terms standards at home and abroad. Then some common problems in the aspects of terms and definition of oil-gas storage and transportation professional standards are analyzed by the actual instance. Next, the emphasis is placed on the importance of terms and term standards in the professional standard system. It is also pointed out that it is necessary to do term standardization in the oil-gas storage and transportation profession. Finally, it is suggested that the technology and corpus management software should be taken combined with terms so as to conduct the standardization construction of oil-gas storage and transportation term.
