The construction of characteristic databases is a very important content of the construction of information resources and the development of deep-level information services. This paper introduces the practice of the construction of characteristic special database with ILAS by the library of Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, and probes into its construction significance, construction principles, construction schemes, system maintenance, and data update, improvement and optimization, etc.
