The conception of the construction of network sharing platform for foreign language databases in universities and colleges of Western Guangdong

文章在分析粤西四所高校图书馆外文数据库资源利用特点的基础上,提出通过与数据商达成商业协议、共同订购Elsevier数据库、构建区域环境下网络共享平台等方式缓解图书馆经费紧张、资源不足及利用率低下等矛盾。

Based on the characteristics of the utilization of the foreign language databases of the four colleges and universities in Western Guangdong, the author proposes that a commercial agreement with database providers should be reached, Elsevier database should be jointly ordered, a network resource sharing platform for foreign language databases in the libraries of colleges and universities in Western Guangdong should be constructed, so as to solve the problems of tight budget, inadequate foreign database resources and the low utilization rate of the resources.
