Thoughts on Dreams of the Mountain Forest

此文为歌剧《山林之梦》的曲作者王世光于2012年3月20日在建立剧组讨论会上的讲话提纲。这部经王世光前后酝酿20年的作品,终于2012年8月29、30日在北京保利剧院成功地进行了首轮首演。文章由自述形式展开,介绍了自己多年来的创作过程、对于《山林之梦》艺术特色的把握、人物角色的设定以及最初对服装舞美的构想。歌剧创作是多方面因素的积极整合,需要时间和耐心来沉淀与打磨,希望借以此文为广大歌剧创作者提供借鉴,也望这部原创歌剧《山林之梦》日后能常演常新。

Wang Shiguang's opera Dreams of the Mountain Forest, completed in 1992,took two decades before its premiere at Beijing's Poly Theatre last August.Based on the speech delivered by the composer to his creative team last March,the article outlines the opera's creative process,stylistic considerations and characterization,as well as early concepts for costume and set design. Opera is the amalgamation of many elements,requiring time and patience as a work becomes more polished.
