南宋名臣吴潜出身理学世家,以政名、文名继其家声。他的文学思想既得到了家学家风的浸染,受到家族成员的影响,又能有所发展,成为振兴南宋宣城吴氏文学家族的杰出代表,也使宣城吴氏成为宋代一个较有特色的文学家族。

Wu Qian was born into a family in the Southern Song Dynasty, who were really good at the idealist philosophy of Confucian school. He inherited his family＇s fine traditions, and made aremarkable breakthrough in both politics and literature. Both of his thought and literary works were disseminated in his family genealogy, and he himself, as an outstanding representative of revitalizing Xuancheng Wu Literary Family in the Southern Song Dynasty, made his family a more distinctive literary one.
