On Desolateness and Coldness Moods in Liu Zongyuan's Poetry

柳宗元诗歌《江雪》《渔翁》开启了寒江独钓、江天暮雪等荒寒画境。其诗歌的荒寒意境与文人画的荒寒意境有相通处,都表达了孤绝荒寒的生命意识,体现古代知识分子的孤独心态。柳宗元对荒寒画境影响是中晚唐诗歌意境与文人心态对文人画影响之一例。

The poem Fishing in Snow and The Old Fisherman by Liu Zongyuan opened the mood of fishing alone in Cold River and sunset snow in Winter River. Such mood was similar to the mood of literati paintings, which expressed the sense of life in loneliness and coldness, and reflected lonely mentality of intellectuals in ancient China. The mood in Liu＇ s poems greatly influenced poets and literati in mid -late Tang Dynasty.
