This article analyses and studies two different methods of leveling when people use optical theodolite and it puts forward that ＂the aligning of optical instrument＂ is better than ＂hammer ball aligning＂ in efficiency and effect. Then it proposes ＂the aligning of optical instrument＂ method in current technical condition and provides relevant solutions and techniques on how to use the optimal theodolite quickly and skilfully.
