基于语料库的中国学生英语短语动词使用调查

An Investigation of Chinese Learners' Use of English Phrasal Verbs——A Corpus-based Study

本研究通过对比中国学生英语口笔语语料库的口语库和英国国家语料库的口语部分,调查了中国英语专业学生和英语本族语者在短语动词使用方面存在的差异。结果发现,中国英语专业学生在口语中使用以go,come,get等为中心动词的短语动词的频次总体明显低于英语本族语者的使用频次,呈现少用现象。这种少用现象的可能原因为中国学生对短语动词本身的语体特征理解不够及其所采取的保险策略等。

Abstract： This study investigates the differences in using English phrasal verbs between Chinese English majors and English pative speakers, through the contrast between Spoken English Corpus of Chinese Learners （SECCL 2. 0） and BNC Spoken in British National Corpus. The results indicate that Chinese English majors generally underuse English phrasal verbs with go, come, get, etc as central verbs, the use frequency of which is distinctly lower than that of English native speakers. The inadequate understanding of the stylistic features of English phrasal verbs by Chinese English majors and the play- it- safe strategy may contribute to the underuse phenomenon.
