Forest canopies, supporting about 40 % of the world's terrestrial species, play a crucial role in maintaining ecosystem function, evolution, and biodiversity. Forest canopies are highly susceptible to global climate change and anthropogenic disturbance;therefore, canopy arthropods are facing the threat seriously. In this study, we reviewed the brief history of methodology and summarized the research progress in studies of canopy arthropods.
