A Textual Research on Lu Ji’s Serving as the Official in the West Jin Dynasty for the First Time

太熙元年杨骏担任太傅之后,陆机受其征召,入洛担任了太傅府祭酒一职。在元康元年三月杨骏被诛杀的政治风波中,陆机由于职位较低,又是南方才士的代表,声名远扬,受到了张华的救理,同时又赶上了惠帝改元之大赦,最终得以全身而退。怀着避难远祸的心理,回到了自己的故乡东吴。元康二年,重新受到朝廷的征召,再赴洛阳,接受太子洗马一职。

In the first year of Taixi after Yang Jun served as Taifu, Lu Ji was recruited into the mansion of Taifu in Luoyang and took the post of Jijiu. In March of Taikang 1 st year when Yang Jun was killed in the political turmoil, Lu Ji, due to his lower position, and his fame as a representative of the southern scholars, the help from Zhang Hua, and the amnesty of Emperor Hui, eventually retreated. With the wish to refuge from disasters, he returned to his hometown Dongwu. Until in Taikang 2nd year, called up by the government, Lu Ji left for Luoyang again and accepted the position of crown prince horse.
