非英语专业大学生对RP英语单元音感知实验研究

Perception of RP English Monophthongs by Non-English Majors

以语音迁移和语音感知理论为基础,探讨非英语专业大学生感知RP英语单元音的模式。实验表明,被试的感知错误主要是由母语原型范畴音的迁移作用造成的,与汉语原型范畴音相似的英语元音的感知错误率较低,并存在同化周围其他元音现象,造成这些元音的感知错误。元音感知错误率不存在性别上的显著差异。实验结果对英语语音及口语教学有一定启示。

Based on the speech transfer and speech perception theory,the paper presents an experimental analysis of the perception of RP English monophthongs by the non-English majors.The results reveal that due to the transfer of native-language prototype category,the prototype-like English vowels have the lowest error rate and have a tendency of assimilating other vowels,causing perception errors of these vowels.There is no significant difference between genders in terms of the vowels perception.These findings have implications for the teaching of English phonetics and oral English.
