从类工具书谈起——兼评《应用语言学——范畴与现状》的特点

Some Comments on Quasi-reference Books: Also on Features of Category and Present Situation of Applied Linguistics

应用语言学研究范围之广,学科分支之多的这一特性需要有一种类似工具书的图书对其知识体系进行全面的梳理与总结。《应用语言学———范畴与现状》就是梳理、归纳、总结应用语言学知识的这样一种类似工具书的书籍,我们暂且把它称为"类工具书"。通过比较发现,《应用语言学———范畴与现状》与传统工具书相比,主要具有"阅读性"的特点;与一般性学术著作相比,则体现了"结构安排合理""材料收集‘权’‘全’""内容覆盖广泛""细节处理到位"等特点。当然任何一部出色的作品都会或多或少的存在某些问题,《应用语言学———范畴与现状》也不例外。我们试图通过对这本类工具书作全面客观地评述,使大家认识到类工具书存在的合理性与重要性。

As applied linguistics has wide scope and many branches,a book similar as reference book is needed to thoroughly comb and summarize its knowledge system.Category and Present Situation of is just such a book which we can call it quasi-reference book.Comparing with traditional reference books,it is easy to read;and comparing with common academic books,it has reasonable structure,authoritative and complete materials,extensive content and well processed details.
