中西两种文化既有共性，也有个性．这种现象的存在极大地影响了英汉两种语言．特别是它们各自习惯用法的运用．笔者从文化内涵的角度，对一个常见的英汉颜色词红色（red）的理解和表达进行了探讨．

Chinese and English have not only general character but also individual character.The phenomenon greatly influence the two languages,especial]y the use of separate custom usage.This paper expounds the Chinese and English understanding and expression of a common colour word 'red', from the culture commotation.
