During the period of Anti-Japanese War, some important literary translations aroused quite different interpretations. A thorough analysis of the disputes reveals that the translators and critics tried their best to ＂guide＂ the reactions of the audience through prefaces or postscripts, and translation reviews; by doing so, they turned literary translations into a weapon to serve certain political purposes. The conflicting interpretations of literary translations are indicative of the tensions among different political sections.
