有人说,当代中国像一个混乱的航空港,该到的航班没有按时来,不该到的却有提前降落的。拿这个说法形容中国抽象雕塑,有人说：抽象雕塑对中国而言,是补课,中国雕塑还没有认真经过现代主义阶段,没有认真研究、学习抽象艺术,突然就跳到＂观念＂上了,就＂后现代＂了;所以,现在研究抽象雕塑就是补中国雕塑曾经失缺的那一课？这种说法对不对？与此相关的说法还有：＂抽象＂比＂具像＂要高一个层级,＂抽象＂是＂具像＂的发展和提升。有一个反对抽象雕塑的艺术家亲口对我说,＂还没有学会走,就想跑;

What is abstract? The 'abstract' in the philosophical sense has nothing to do with art,it is a process of thinking, and a continuous abandonment and neglect of sensual objects and specific things,then finally to form concepts, categories and ideas.Art is not spoken by concept,category or thinking,no matter what kind of art is always spoken by tangible,colored and voiced things,always resort to human senses.In this sense,art is not the abstract of philosophy. The relation between art and abstract is the 'abstract' of art.Compared to philosophy,it is the second level of abstraction and within the context of art.In addition,in the physical world and people' s eyes,there are natural abstract and artifidal abstract(including art abstract).Art abstract belongs to artificial abstraction.The abstraction of art has been existing since the art appeared,but abstract art as an independent and self-conscious existence is a product of Western modernism.
