Quantitative Assessment of Translation Quality: Models,Trends and Implications

翻译质量评估有质性评估与量化评估之分,两者之间存在诸多差异。当前量化评估的主要模式大致可分为参数参照模式、扣分模式及能力描述模式。未来评估模式应注重译文整体效果评估与微观层面评估的结合,并逐步细化对译员翻译能力的描述,因此需要对多种评估模式进行综合运用。了解翻译质量的量化评估模式及其发展趋势对于翻译教学以及其翻译测试具有重要的指导意义。

Translation quality assessment can be generally categorized into quantitative assessment and qualitative assessment.Quantitative assessment,much different from the qualitative,is mainly realized through the parameter model,the error deduction model and the competence description model.This paper suggests that future quantitative assessment move towards a more integrated assessment model which details the translator competence by evaluating the translation quality from both micro and macro perspectives.
