摘要
以2000-2010年的地方国有上市公司为样本,本文研究国企高管变更的决定因素。结果发现,如果上市公司的经营业绩相对较差,则其高管发生变更的可能性较大。更为重要的是,在市场化程度较高的地区,高管变更对经营业绩的敏感性更高。这说明,经营业绩已经成为考核国企领导人的重要决定因素,该结论对研究中国经理人市场和国有企业公司治理问题具有重要的启示意义。
We study the local SOEs' top managements' turnover in China, using the sample from 2000-2010. We find a significant negative relationship between top managements' turnover rate and firms' operating performance, especially in regions with higher degree of marketization after controlling for other potential factors. This indicates that firms' operating performance is the main factor for local SOEs' top managements' turnover. Therefore it has some policy implications for manager's labor market and corporate governance reform in China,
