三次长沙会战作战时间之长、双方用兵之众、战争规模之大、伤亡数量之多,是抗日战争时期绝无仅有的,体现了长沙军民心忧天下、敢为人先的长沙精神。这种精神又可具化为救亡图存的爱国精神、顽强不屈的抗争精神、勇于进取的开拓精神和舍身成仁的牺牲精神。

Changsha Battle of three campaigns is a unique event in terms of several aspects： the long duration, the great quantity of soldiers involved, the large scale of the battle as well as the great number of casualties. It represents Changsha people and soldiers care about the world and dare to become pioneers. This spirit can be specifically divided into patriotic spirit of saving our country and peo- ple, indomitable spirit of fighting, pioneering spirit of forging ahead and sacrificial spirit of dying for the sake of a just cause.
