Analyzed the present situation in the higher mathematics education and its importance and task in higher vocational college education, combined with the goal of developing higher technical and applied talents, proposed some measures of teaching reform such as changing and optimizing the traditional teaching method and education concept, fully mobilizing the enthusiasm of the students in learning higher mathematics, desalinating abstract mathematics concept and the proof of the nature or the theorem, paying attention to ability cultivation, improving the examination mode, and highlighting the students＇ mathematical quality cultivation. These measures improved and optimized the higher mathematics education in higher vocational college education and raised students＇ learning initiative.
