The book Literary Mind and the Carving of Dragons , written by LiuXie , is regarded as a milepost type of work in Chinese literary history, discussed the truth of the literary problems about Liuyi （ in Chinese ）. It studied the development of the Fu （ descriptive prose interspersed with verse ）. The definition of literary skills of Bi and Xing and the artistic characteris- tics are explained clearly in LiuXie＇ s book . The paper discussed the contribution made by LiuXie to the theory of Liuyi from the aspects of ＂FengYaSong＂ and ＂FuBiXing＂.
