论现代散文作家对江南城市想象与记忆的逻辑

Modern Chinese Prose Writers' Logic in Imagination and Memory of Cities to the South of the Yangtze River

围绕"人与地"的关系,就现代散文作家为什么要写江南城市、如何写江南城市等问题展开探讨。现代散文作家对江南城市书写的冲动:一是来自写作对象本身,二是源自创作主体的需要。虽然不同时代、不同作家对同一城市的解读所得以及传达千差万别,但是现代散文作家与城市之间的态度基本趋同。虽然散文是对经验世界的叙述,但是它并不排斥作家基于经验世界基础上的对江南城市的想象与记忆。

Focusing on the relation between ＂man and the earth＂, this paper addresses why modern Chi-nese prose writers chose to write about cities to the south of the Yangtze River and how they described them. It holds that the writers were motivated by both their subject matters and their own needs. Although different writers in different times might have understood and conveyed the same cities in totally different ways, the o-verall attitude of modem prose writers as a whole towards the cities was basically the same. While prose is the description of the empirical world, it does not deny and reject the writers＇ imagination and memory of these cities based on their own experiences.
