Social Consultative Dialogue in Contemporary China:Key Factors,Characteristics and Functions

党的十八大报告提出,要健全社会主义协商民主制度。社会协商对话是社会主义协商民主制度的一种表现形式。当代中国社会协商对话的要素包括协商对话主体、协商对话客体、协商对话原则、协商对话场所、协商对话形式及协商对话目标等六个方面。开展社会协商对话有利于实现决策的民主化和科学化、促进社会稳定与和谐、推动公民有序参与政治、完善中国特色社会主义民主制度以及加强和创新中国特色的社会管理体系。

It is mentioned in the Report to the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that we need to improve the system of socialist consultative democracy. Social consultative dialogue is a form of expression of the sys- tem of socialist consultative democracy. The key factors of the social consultative dialogue in China at current stage in- clude subject, object, principles, venue, forms and objectives of the consultative dialogue. Social consultative dia- logue will help to make democratic and scientific decisions, promote social stability and harmony, encourage the citi- zens to participate in politics in an orderly way, improve the system of socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics, and strengthen and innovate in the social management system with Chinese characteristics.
