Objective To study the expressions of leptin and CD105 in human glioma tissues and their meanings. Methods The expressions of leptin and CD105 in 54 specimens of human gliomas tissues, of which, 8 belonged in WHO grade Ⅰ , 14 in gradeⅡ, 15 in grade Ⅲ and 17 in grade Ⅳ, and in 14 specimens of the normal brain tissues were determined by immunohistochemical method. Results There is not the expressions of leptin and CD105 in the normal brain tissues. The positive expression rates of leptin and CD105 were 75.93% and 81.48% respectively in the glioma tissues. The expressions of leptin and CD105 in the gliomas tissues were positively related to WHO grades of the gliomas (P〈0.01). There is a positive relationship between the expressions of leptin and CD105 in the gliomas tissues (P〈0.01). Conclusion It is suggested that leptin may participate in the pathological development of the gliomas, and promote the formation of new blood vessels in the glioma tissues.
