This article recommends the application of diatomite filter aid to water filtration abroad and its recent domestic research. Some materials concerned suggest that the diatomite filtration technique can be applied to the filtration of drinking water, industrial water and swimming pool water, and can also be used in further purification of treated industrial wastewater and treated domestic sewage. The technique is characteristic of simple equipment, less land occupation, easier operation, low expense and good effect features, the diatomite filter aid can remove minute suspended solids, colloid substances, bacterial, virus etc. The filtered water is clear and diaphaneity.
