On April 20,1932,the Red Army led by Mao Zedong captured Zhangzhou, winning a great victory The Zhangzhou Battle was a victory acquired based on the joint decision making of Mao Zedong and Zhu De after the failure of the Ganzhou Battle. The Red Army＇ s entrance into Zhangzhou created a model of the army captu- ring cities and practising the tenet of the people＇ s army. The victory of this battle became the opening of the Central Soviet Area developing from creation and consolidation to culmination.
