Investigation on Foreign Language Learning Needs of Local Universities Based on Learner Needs Analysis

研究以调查问卷为基础,对广西地方院校学习者的大学英语需求进行了调查。结果表明:学生的学习需求与实际被满足程度之间的差距较大,大部分学生不支持取消大学英语课程和四六级考试,且有强烈的学习除英语外的其他外语的需求。

Based on a questionnaire, this paper researches the learner needs for college English study in Guangxi local col- leges. The results shows some disparities do exist between the needs of the subjects and the practical teaching; and over half of the subjects don＇ t support the cancellation of College English Course or CET - 4. The subjects desire to learn other foreign lan- guages apart from English. This paper analyzes the problems found in the research and proposes some suggestions.
