Zhou Enlai made positive efforts and outstanding contributions to develop Sino-Japanese relations in 1972. He required Japan to overcome the wrong tendency, promoted the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan,guided Sino-Japanese relations to become extensive,ob- served China and the world on the basis of Sino-Japanese Relations. All of these show that the devel- opment of Sino-Japanese relations needs combining facing the history with looking into the future, combining paying attention to the parts with grasping the whole, combining adhering to principles with knowing how to be flexible.
