如何将方志馆打造成具有特色的馆藏机构,关键取决于馆藏特点。方志馆要走自己的馆藏之路,方志馆的馆藏无论在数量上,还是在版本价值上,都无法与综合性图书馆和档案馆相提并论。方志馆不能在馆藏上一味追求品种数量,也不能盲目追求版本的价值,而是要利用有限的资金和本系统资源,将所有的地情资料收集齐全,形成自己的馆藏特色。方志馆馆藏的目的是为了给公众提供省情和地情的查询,要让更多的读者查阅到方志馆的地情资料,应该解决远程查阅的问题,让更多的人足不出户就能查询到方志馆藏的地情资料。

How to build up a local records museum into a characteristic institution largely depends upon the characteristics of its collections. A local records museum should walk its own path of developing a collection.
