Textual Function Analysis on English Translation of Seeing Yuan the Second off the Northwest Frontier by Wang Wei

本文以韩礼德的系统功能语法为理论基础,从语篇分析功能出发,运用本功能的主位——述位系统、信息结构系统和衔接系统,对王维《送元二使安西》一诗及其英译文进行尝试性分析,旨在说明语言语篇功能在翻译过程中的重要性,验证系统功能语言学在诗歌分析中的可操作性和实用性。

This paper based on Halliday's systemic—functional grammar,intends to analyze the textual function for Wang Wei's Seeing Yuan the Second off the Northwest Frontier.In the analysis,the three systems of textual function,theme—rheme system,information structural system and cohesion system,are applied through which this author means to show the importance of textual function in the process of translation and the applicability of systemic-functional grammar to discourse analysis.
