摘要
《但以理书》是一部具有激进的政治批判意味的小说,但是,小说批判的背后隐藏了作者的犹太性。围绕原子弹间谍案,多克托罗创造了一幅犹太人物群像,表现了冷战时期美国犹太人的生存困境,并通过他们在困境中的不同抉择表达了对犹太人命运的悲叹和对犹太传统的关注。
The Book of Daniel written by the Jewish-American writer E. L. Doctorow is a novel with strong political appeals; however, Doctorow＇ s condemn on the American government actually reveals his Jewishness. The portrait of Jewish characters as well as their different choices in face of survival reflects Doctorow＇s lament for Jewish destiny and his emphasis on Jewish traditions.
