Analysis of the Two English Versions of Lin Daiyu's Poem “Yu Ji” from the Perspective of Cohesion

本文从韩礼德的系统功能语言学角度出发,对《红楼梦》中林黛玉诗歌《虞姬》的两种英译文的语篇衔接手段进行了探讨,主要分析了两种英译文的语音模式。旨在通过语篇衔接分析来揭示译文和原文以及各种译文之间存在的差异,使译文尽可能的接近原文。从语篇衔接的角度来分析汉语诗歌英译问题,可以帮助译者更好地把握译文的语篇重构,进而提高读者的感受水平。

This paper takes a functional approach to the study of two English versions of Lin Daiyu＇s poem ＂Yu Ji＂ in Hong Lou Meng. It attempts to analyze the poems from the perspective of cohesion, especially phonetic pauem. It intends to find out the differences between the original poem and the translated versions as well as those between the English versions. The study of cohesion in the trmlslations of classical Chinese poems could help the translators to restrueture the diseourse, so as to help the readers to appreciate the beauty of the pocms.
