摘要
隐喻的认知方式是由一类事物理解和经历另一类事物,这一认知模式为探究委婉语的生成方式提供了新的认知框架。本文以认知语言学为理论基础,从认知隐喻的角度对社会语言文化生活中普遍存在的委婉语的隐喻生成进行研究,以期对英语委婉语的生成本质获得新的认识。
The essence of metaphor is understanding and experiencing one kind of thing in terms of another, which provides a new cognitive fraalework for the studies of the generative mechanism of euphemism. This thesis, based on cognitive linguistics theory, made a study on metaphorical mechanism of euphemism existing universally in social and language culture from cognitive metaphorical perspective, with a hope to shed some new light on the generative mechanism of euphemism.
