This review article elucidates that cytokeratin, commonly expressed in hepatocyte, will alter its circulating level in different viral or non-viral hepatitis. Understanding the mechanism of hepatitis impact on cytokeratin level will enhance our understanding of the complexity of acute and chronic inflammatory liver injury.
