This article analyzes Zora Neale Hurston＇s works with Joseph Campbell＇s theory of the Hero＇s journey and points out that the quest of archetype is embodied in her stories concerning black people＇s struggles in the white world. The unique quests of black people under her pen show her affirmation of black culture and her great concern for black women, which demonstrates her unique way of celebrating black culture.
