This paper summarizes the characteristics of information visualization at various development stages up to now,and proposes the innovation requirement for the traditional information visualization and the concept of modern information visualization.On this basis,the paper explores and constructs the research framework and methodological system of the modern information visualization theory with the focus on the research paradigm,theoretical content and methodological basis of information visualization.Finally,the paper explores and predicts the future development of information visualization.
