蒋廷黻与夭折的“中国自由党”(1947-1951)

Tsiang Tingfu and the Premature End of the Chinese Liberal Party: 1947-1951

1947年之后,国民党在大陆统治日渐式微,直至彻底失败。在此过程中,已加入国民党政权的蒋廷黻对既有体制产生了疏离倾向。他从1947年起,开始联络胡适等自由主义知识分子,试图建立"中国自由党"来取代国民党,实现其政治抱负。1949年下半年,蒋廷黻等人的组党活动进入高潮,他们完成了党纲的草稿,并在美国宣布新党即将成立。1950年初,"中国自由党"的组织纲领出现在台湾的《自由中国》上。然而,随着蒋介石在台湾统治的渐趋稳定,蒋廷黻的组党活动中止,"中国自由党"最终终胎死腹中,蒋廷黻则继续留在了国民党的体制之中。

Mter1947, Kuomingtang＇s governing in the China's Mainland was coming to an end. In this process, Tsiang Tingfu （Jiang iang Tingfu） who was a member of the Kuomingtang regime was declined to alienat from the existed system. From 1949, he began to contact Hu Shih and other liberal intellectuals in an attempt to fulfill his political ambition by setting up the Chinese Liberal Party to replace Kuomingtang. In the later half of 1949, the organizing actitivies came to a climax with the completion of the draft of the party constitution and the claim of the imminent establishment of the Chinese Liberal Party in the U. S. A. In early 1950, the organizing constitution of the Chinese Liberal Party was published in ＂Free China＂ in Taiwan. However, with the stablizing of Chiang Kai-shek＇s governing in Taiwan, Tsiang Tingfu＇s activities of organizing the Chinese Liberal Party had to come to an end. Tsiang Tingfu contimued to stay in the official system of Kuomingtang regime.
