EQ can be referred to an ability of self- recognition, emotional control, frustration tolerance as well as communication and negotiation. By analyzing the current situation in academic libraries, such as paying too much emphasis on IQ, ignoring EQ cultivation and the incompetence of the librarians EQ, this article attempts to elaborate the significance of EQ cultivation for academic librarians and explores the approaches on how to cultivate academic librarians ＂EQ. 9 refs.
