China’s ODI: An Institutional Perspective

摘要 20世纪80年代以来,特别是走出去战略实施之后,中国企业加快了对外直接投资步伐。截至2011年底,中国对外直接投资遍布了制度质量、经济发展水平和意识形态不尽相同的177个国家和地区。在复杂的国际投资环境下,如何选择最优的国际投资模式是对外投资企业不得不面对的一个现实问题。本文在资源基础论、产业基础论、制度基础论和异质性企业理论基础上,探讨了制度影响企业国际投资模式选择的基本机制,建立了统一的理论分析框架,为中国企业海外投资提供理论参考。 More and more Chinese firms have established overseas subsidiaries since the 1980s, especially since China started encouraging overseas investment in recent years, and by the end of 2011, China's ODI has had presence in 177 countries and regions, which have different systematic, economic and ideological backgrounds. It is vital for Chinese firms to choose an optimal ODI entry mode to cater to different investment environment. Through analyzing the mechanism of the effects of institutions on productivity and organizational costs, this article develops a comprehensive theoretical framework on entry mode to provide reference for China's ODI activities.
